Interview Check: Jake Burns

1. Who are you interviewing and why? I'm interviewing Jake Burns, an female-to-male transgendered person living in Huntington Beach. I've known Jake for a while, before he came out as a transguy, and so I'd like to think that I've known both sides: Michaela and Jake. For a long time, Michaela acted particularly masculine, but really only counted it as her being a butch lesbian. When she learned more about what being trans* looks like and how people who've gone through it feel, Michaela decided that it was time to fully express herself as Jake. Jake's new to being trans* and he's not quite used to it, but his story is still really fresh.
